New York Real Estate Search Trends Q1 & Q2

Pursuit has compiled our quarterly search volume report, detailing apartment and condo search trends for Q1 & Q2 from 2019 through 2023.

NYC Condo Search Volume

Condominium Search Volume From July 2019 through June 2023

Over the last 4 years, we have seen recognizable search increases for “New York Condominium” and all related keyword searches in January and August. They appear to correlate just before the prime selling seasons in the Spring and Fall.

Search volume for these terms peaked in 2021 and we continue to see a downward trend as we moved into the summer months of 2023.

Data from the beginning of 2022 through Q2 2023 shows a decrease of over 15% from Q1 and a 6.5% decrease Q2 2022 vs Q2 2023.

Peak Apartment Search Volume in June 2022

In looking at the total search volume for all “New York Apartment” and related searches over the last 4 years, we see that volume peaked in June 2022 and has been trending downward in June 2023.

Most Searched Apartment Neighborhoods

Top Neighborhoods are Seeing Declines in Searches 

Long Island City is, once again, the most searched neighborhood with Williamsburg coming in second. Chelsea, West Village, Upper West Side and Upper East Side continue to be very popular.

Both neighborhoods are down significantly from 2022. Most of the top neighborhoods saw declines in 2023, however, SoHo and Tribeca increased from 2022.
