Williamsburg, Long Island City the Most Searched Neighborhoods for Apartments in April
In a study conducted by real estate advertising firm, Pursuit, Williamsburg was the clear leader in searches for rental apartments in New York City.
The study looked at the keyword volume and number of searches done in April 2020, nearly two months since the State-wide “pause.”
“Over all neighborhoods, we are still seeing a 12% decrease in searches for apartments, but Williamsburg is different,” said Ross Anderson, CEO of Pursuit. “Williamsburg searches were actually up 2% from 2019 monthly averages.”
In addition to search volume, Pursuit is also tracking advertising bidding by keyword. The bidding, which the agency is also calling the Keyword Price Index™ (KPI), shows the average price for an advertisers ad to appear in the top section of a search result.
The data for the top two neighborhoods are drastically different. Williamsburg saw a 2% increase in search volume and a 32% decrease in the KPI. Long Island City has suffered a little more with a 25% decrease in searches and only 4% decrease in KPI.
